Action movies have been for decades what kept the lights on and ran Hollywood’s business. Not much has changed to the present time, although there are some differences. We are living in a time where the most common action movies are the superhero type: the flashier and nerdier the better.

In 2018 the highest-grossing movies were superhero movies and 2019 will be no different, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still some good old action movies coming around.

Welcome to 2019, where the most anticipated movies are sagas, stories that people been following for years and can’t get enough of them. In the list below you will find the 5 best upcoming action movies that are coming to a cinema near you and will certainly make a success in the box office.

The purpose was to create once more the equilibrium in the universe, which in his mind would help everyone in the future.

Endgame welcomes us to a post Thanos Earth, were everything is darker and haunted by the disappearance of loved ones. With the allies reduce to half, the Avengers will need to assemble once more in order to defeat Thanos and with that try to restore the universe’s former glory.

However, will their conjoint efforts be enough to defeat him?

4. Men in Black: International

The renowned Sci-Fi and action film Men in Black is back, and with a new iconic duo based in England. There won’t be any Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones though, as they will see their legacy continue through Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson.

They will face an earth-threatening event as other MIB did before them and all this while wearing a stylish suit and exuberant weapons. Fortunately to the fans they did not try to change the successful formula and reinvent the wheel.

The story follows a newbie agent and the experienced one as the old Men in Black. This movie creates a great sense of nostalgia, but will they earn a place next to the legends of the previous Man in Black?

With executive production supervised by a certain Steven Spielberg, Men in Black: International is scheduled to be released on June 13, 2019.

5. The New Mutants

The trailer to this movie dropped two years ago but fans had to hold their horses for quite some time. After a while people actually started predicting this production would never see the light of day. However, it seems like it is finally happening, and ‘The New Mutants’, inspired in a 1982 comic book will release this Summer.

‘The New Mutants’ is the thirteen and last installment of the X-Men movie saga but makes a twist from your typical superhero movie, by transforming it into a horrifying tale.

It will probably give you a different view on X-Men and will launch a completely new cast, with some familiar faces like Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane (Arya Stark on Game of Thrones). It is also expected that Jon Hamm will make a cameo as the villain Mister Sinister.

The story begins with a group of young mutants held in a secret facility, where they are experimented on and suffer in the hands of the staff. Without anyone to help the young mutants, they will need to fight and be able to free themselves from their current enclosure.

After having two failed release dates, The New Mutants is scheduled to be finally in theatres on August 2nd, 2019. It is still uncertain if this will be the beginning of a successful new trilogy or just another failed attempt to bring a mythical comic book to live action.
