With a packing list, you will benefit from being organized. Organization is very important if you are to pack for long travels. When you are organized, you are less likely to forget important items.
The packing list you create, can be organized by categories. My favorite way to do this is to use the categories; personal luggage, carry-on luggage and checked luggage.
When the list is created in this way, it is less likely that you will pack items in the wrong bag. Packing items in the wrong bag will cause you problems at the airport so ensure that you do your research.
3. Review Airline Policies
When traveling on a long journey, it is very easy to over pack. In an effort to avoid this, you can review the polices stipulated by your airline.
Each airline will have different baggage policies so make sure that you read the police for each airline that you will use. This is important because, many times with long trips, you will have connected flight with different airlines.
Also, by reviewing your airline’s policy you will be better equipped to create your packing list.
