With the launch of a new season today, Fortnite is getting a much-needed refresh. Here’s when the game will be offline.

Fortnite will be seeing downtime today ahead of the Chapter 4 Season 4 update. Here’s everything we know so far.

With a much-needed full update coming today, we will finally be saying goodbye to Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3.

The new Chapter 4 Season 4 update, entitled update 26.00, won’t have a live event which is no surprise considering it seems like Epic Games have left live events behind in the dust.

After some pretty significant collabs this season, including the likes of WWE and Jujutsu Kaisen, Fortnite has been on a bit of a roll in terms of cosmetics.

However, even after unvaulting a couple of exotic items, the gameplay still just wasn’t doing it for me, making me more excited than ever for the Chapter 4 Season 4 start.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 Downtime

As affirmed by the official Fortnite Status Twitter account, the downtime before the launch of the Chapter 4 Season 4 update is set to commence at 8am BST / 3am EDT / 12am PDT on Friday, August 25th.

Matchmaking typically goes offline approximately 30 minutes earlier, so anticipate being disconnected from a game half an hour prior.

While Fortnite downtime generally spans about four hours, it’s important to note that given this is the Chapter 4 Season 4 update, the offline period could potentially extend beyond this usual duration.

The Fortnite Status account also indicated that patch sizes might exceed the usual norms for this particular release.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 Early Patch Notes

Upon examining the Fortnite Trello board, we are informed about the upcoming changes.

However, considering the nature of the Chapter 4 Season 4 update, it’s highly probable that the complete patch notes will be quite comprehensive. The following issues have been successfully resolved:

  • In Team Rumble matches, teammate markers occasionally appeared slightly behind the players’ actual locations.
  • Some players on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 experienced a loss of most game audio and distorted voice chat after participating in a match.
  • While scrolling through the friend list on the sidebar, players could be unexpectedly brought back to the top of the menu if a friend went online or offline.
  • On certain Android devices, equipping the ‘Indiana Jones’ style with the Indiana Jones Outfit caused a discrepancy in the face texture compared to the body.
  • The “No Tail” style of the Cozy Chomps Outfit still displayed a tail.
  • Ranked quest progress for “Damage Opponents” might be delayed or fail to credit full weapon damage.
  • An issue was identified that could cause TRO to not apply correctly.
  • Weak spots were not appearing when using the pickaxe on certain devices.
  • Resizing the Fire button beyond 100% on Android devices did not retain the change, and the fire button remained small.

The Chapter 4 Season 4 update is anticipated to be considerably extensive, offering a much-needed rejuvenation to the game.

The #Fortnite v26.10 update releases today, downtime begins in 30 minutes! Matchmaking is now being disabled.

At 01:07 pm (IST), Fortnite servers are temporarily offline for preparations related to the v26.10 update. This means matchmaking will remain disabled during this period.

Kindly take note that the Item Shop timing previously announced for FNCS Global Championship 2023 items is incorrect. The Champion Kyra and Cosmic Infinity Outfits will be accessible once downtime for v26.30 concludes.

At 12:20 PM (IST), Due to update releases today, downtime begins in 20 minutes! Matchmaking is now being disabled. Fortnite will be down.

12:40 PM ( IST), Many Fortnite gamers may be experiencing downtime or server outage issues with the Fortnite game due to scheduled maintenance on November 3, 2023, at 07:00 UTC.

10:26 AM ( IST ), As per the Downdetector website, approximately 9,000 users are facing outage issues with Fortnite by Epic Games. Users are reporting Fortnite being down, with servers experiencing disruptions and the game not working. The majority of users are encountering server-related problems with the game.

Update 9 [ 20 November, 2023 ]

At 10:51 AM (IST), many Fortnite users reported a 66% increase in server connection issues, such as ‘No sound queues’ and ‘No visual sounds’ during game load up. Additionally, Fortnite is only allowing players to return to the lobby instead of proceeding to the next game.

At 10:35 AM (IST), again, many Fortnite users are facing server issues with the game not working on PlayStation.

Update 11 [ 24 November, 2023 ]

11:08 AM ( IST ), Users reported issues with Fortnite’s voice chat on PC; it simply is not working.

At 5:52 AM (IST), the voice/party chat in the Fortnite game is not functioning. Users have reported issues with FortniteGame, and there are outage reports indicating that users are experiencing difficulties entering matches in Fortnite.

At 11:29 AM (IST), Fortnite users are facing server connection issues. Some are experiencing abandonment issues related to Fortnite, and without elaborating further, there are reports of Fortnite packet loss that users cannot resolve.

At 10:51 AM (IST), many Fortnite users reported server connection issues with the game. Fortnite on PS4 is consistently encountering an error code, with numerous caching issues affecting the gameplay.

Many Fortnite gamers reported game server issues, encountering errors during logins, and experiencing mid-game crashes on Xbox as Fortnite servers faced disruptions.

Fortnite servers are experiencing frequent closures every 20-60 minutes, an issue reported by users. It’s not an isolated case; many users are facing server connection problems when starting Fortnite on Xbox Cloud Gaming, encountering glitches on consoles. Similar issues persist across the Fortnite platform.

At 02:08 PM (IST), users reported server connection issues with the Fortnite game. Users mentioned that Fortnite servers are not responding, currently facing downtime.

At 9:28 AM (IST), many users reported that Fortnite is not working; most users are experiencing server connection and gameplay-related issues. Some Fortnite users are also encountering problems with the in-game item shop.

At 2:37 PM (IST), many users reported Fortnite servers being offline. Fortnite services are currently down, and while some unconfirmed reports suggest maintenance, the exact cause remains uncertain.

According to DownDetector, 7971 users reported that the Fortnite game is down. Additionally, someone mentioned that their Xbox for Fortnite is broken.

At 2:31 AM (IST), according to the Downdetector.com outages chart, approximately 6,000 users reported that the Fortnite server was down. Additionally, users reported issues with Xbox controllers, as they won’t connect to PC wirelessly or with a cable.

At 4:42 AM (IST), many Fortnite users are still facing login issues after yesterday’s major outage, and users cannot log in to Fortnite on PS5.

Update 26 [ 23 April, 2024 ]

Scheduled maintenance for the v29.30 update of Fortnite is currently underway, with downtime lasting from 08:00 to 12:00 UTC on April 23, 2024.

Fortnite Not Working? Know the Reason

The highly anticipated Fortnite v30.00 (Chapter 5, Season 3) update is releasing today, and downtime is set to begin in just 30 minutes. As part of this update, matchmaking is currently being disabled, which means players may experience disruptions or be unable to join matches temporarily.

Fortnite is currently undergoing scheduled maintenance for the v30.20 update. Game services, login, parties, friends, messaging, voice chat, matchmaking, stats and leaderboards, the item shop, Fortnite Crew, LEGO Fortnite, and Fortnite Festival matchmaking are all under maintenance. Fortnite is currently experiencing downtime as Epic Games conducts scheduled maintenance for the v31.00 update.

The servers went offline at 03:00 UTC on August 16, 2024, and players have been eagerly awaiting the return of the game.

Many users are reporting issues with updates and connectivity, particularly on platforms like Nintendo Switch.

The extended downtime has left players frustrated as they wait for the servers to come back online.
