Now before telling you about the tips and ways to stop that fogging let’s tell you about the main reason why it happens in the first place.

The major factor that causes fogging of a mask is the dirt on the mask. Yes, you read it right, if your mask is dirty, it will automatically become foggy.

You see the moisture inside your mask needs to get attached with something to get formed and that something is the dirt that you have inside your mask, the dirt and the oily particles allow the moisture to get attached and hence you get fog all over your mask.

We all know the fact that snorkelling needs quite a lot of effort, you have to come out of the water a lot in order to breathe and then go inside again and snorkel so it already is a little hectic but what if we tell you that now we have some amazing devices that allow you snorkeling while breathing through your nose.

Isn’t it great? Well, if it does sound amazing to you then let’s move towards the tips that can help you prevent snorkel mask fogging so that you can have the best out of your snorkelling.

1. Clean your mask properly

As said earlier, the number one thing that causes fogging is the dirt inside your mask which is why you first need to work on cleaning the mask properly.

Just make sure that the mask is crystal clear and clean. Once you clean the mask, then make sure that you aren’t touching the inside of it with your bare hands or fingers because our skin has oil on it and dirt too which then gets attached to the inside of the mask that causes fogging later.

2. Use an anti-fog whenever you feel the need to snorkel

The cheapest and the most effective way to prevent fogging is to get yourself a anti-fog spray. There are hundreds of sprays available on the internet and you can easily buy them for a small amount of money.

You can even use mild baby shampoo and water to clean your mask. The baby shampoo can act like an anti-fog product for you but it’s always better to get a spray and do it on the mask every time you are about to go for snorkeling.

3. Keep your fingers away

Again, once you’ve used the anti-fog spray then keep your hands away especially from the inside of the mask. Your fingers can cause all the trouble and even your anti-fog spray won’t be much of a help to you if all the oil and dirt of your finger touches the inside of your mask.

So, once you have applied the anti-fog, put the mask on your head quickly and enjoy snorkeling.

These are the few ways that can help you prevent the fog on your mask. So, use these tips and we assure you that you will be able to get the best out of your snorkelling experience.
