After much teasing, the trailer of Salman Khan’s much-awaited Tubelight was finally released on the internet by the film’s makers. Clocking at two minutes and twenty-three seconds, the Tubelight trailer gives the audience a glimpse into the characters played by Salman Khan and Sohail Khan.
As was suspected earlier, Tubelight, directed by Kabir Khan, indeed appears to be inspired by the 2015 English-language film Little Boy.
After teasing the fans with posters and pictures, the makers finally released the trailer of the much-anticipated film Tubelight on May 25. And such has been the craze around Salman’s film that within 12 hours of its release, Tubelight has already received 3.7 million views on YouTube.
From Salman and Sohail’s bond to the perfect war setting to Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo, Tubelight boasts of all ingredients to become a blockbuster.
Here are Six intriguing points that we couldn’t miss in the two-minute trailer.
1. Salman Khan as Tubelight
If he has played a quintessential good boy on screen, he has essayed the role of a man with a golden heart too. In a career spanning over three decades, Bollywood has helped him live up to his ‘good boy’ image on screen. And Kabir Khan’s Tubelight promises to take that image forward but with a twist. Salman plays Laxman, the village simpleton, who fights against all odds to rescue his brother (Sohail Khan) after he gets captured beyond Chinese borders during the 1962 Sino-Indian war.
2. Salman-Sohail’s bromance
After Veer, this is the second time Salman and Sohail Khan are playing brothers in screen, and no Tubelight trailer doesn’t remind one of the nightmare that the 2010 film was. Instead, the chemistry between the real life siblings looks endearing and is one of the highlights of the trailer.
3. Shah Rukh Khan’s blink-and-miss appearance
so it’s only a blink-and-miss appearance, more like a tease but the superstar made it to the trailer, adding to the excitement around the film. Amid the Bharat-Laxman story, we see a shadow in the dark which totally looked like Shah Rukh. We can’t wait to see him in the film now.
4. Sino-Indian war
The trailer begins with Chinese army marching towards the Indian border, and sets the tone of the film. Set against the background of 1962 Indo-China war, Tubelight tells the story of two brothers who are separated by the war, when one of them joins the Indian Army to fight the Chinese and gets captured by their army.
5. Yakeen or faith
Apart from Laxman and Bharat, Kabir’s third and most important character in Tubelight is yakeen. Taking inspiration from 2015 English-language film Little Boy, Tubelight’s theme revolves around yakeen or faith. And this very faith makes a simpleton like Laxman cross borders to rescue his brother from Chinese army.
6. The film looks brilliant technically
