5 Ways To Spice Up Your Relationship

Every relationship goes through a series of stages. First there’s the heady beginning when all you can think about is your new-found partner and all you want to do is spend time with them.

After the honeymoon period you’re still mad keen on each other – but maybe not quite so determined to be on your very best behaviour at all times. So you start to give a more accurate picture of the real you.

Spice Up Your Relationship

Over time you really grow to be comfortable in each other’s company and a sort of sixth sense grows between you. You start to anticipate exactly what your partner’s going to think and do and you may even begin to be able to finish each other’s sentences almost by telepathy.

But as the months and years go on maybe you can become too casual in your approach and start to take each other for granted and that’s why it’s important to nurture your relationship if you want to keep it exciting for you both.

So, to give cupid a helping hand and to make sure that you never forget the passion that brought you both together in the first place, here are five great suggestions to spice up your relationship with your significant other.

1. Take to the dancefloor together

Someone once said that dancing is a vertical expression of a horizontal desire and there’s absolutely no doubt that, done right, gliding across the dancefloor together can be a sexy and sensual experience.

But you don’t have to be a wonder at the waltz or superb at the samba to make it a fantastic way to have fun together. Having said that, maybe taking a few lessons would be a good start and it will also give you an experience to share.

In terms of the kind of dance that you might want to make your particular speciality then there’s really only one that beats all the rest in terms of sensual experience and passion and that’s the Argentine tango.

The secret’s in the name – in Latin tango means “I touch” and in the dance you are constantly in very close contact with your partner. You’re sure to be able to find a dance school somewhere near you that can show you some moves that wouldn’t look out of place in Buenos Aires.

2. Make it a regular date night

It’s all too easy to get into a rut of spending weekends slumped on the sofa watching TV or seeing the same group of friends again and again. So what’s really needed to keep the spark alive is to make time for each other by having a regular date night.

The secret to making these successful is to do things that are a little out of the ordinary. So, go on. Put your thinking cap on and start looking beyond the old restaurant/cinema/bar solution.

If you do want to stick to the traditional candle-lit meal you could make it a little more exciting through some role-play. For example, you could pretend it’s your first date and you don’t know anything about each other.

Feel free to create a whole new back story to your life as you could have the chance to be whoever you want to be for an evening. You could even surprise yourself by where it leads you!

3. Eyes down for a game of strip poker

If you want a game to play in the privacy of your own home then this could be the perfect choice. All you need is a set of cards and a basic understanding of how to play strip poker and you’ll be good to go.

It’s a game that’s perfect to play when there are just two of you which is handy because they’d have to be very good friends if you wanted to make it a foursome or more!

There are a couple of obvious things to consider and the first one is that you and your partner should be wearing approximately the same number of items of clothing if you don’t want to put either of you at a distinct disadvantage.

You might also want to include some other rules like being able to put all your clothes back on if you get a royal flush or another strong hand.

As to what to do at the conclusion of the game, well we’ll leave that to your imagination . . .

4. Train for a marathon

Train for a marathon

For many people it’s the ultimate sporting challenge. 26 miles of effort followed by the huge sense of satisfaction of achieving your goal. And if it’s something that you can enjoy with your partner also taking part instead of cheering from the side lines, so much the better.

A key part of doing a marathon is the slow and steady training needed to get you to the right state of fitness and having some mutual encouragement to keep you going is essential.

As you strive towards fitness it’s sure to build yet another bond between you – and you’ll also be getting slimmer and even more attractive to each other as you train! Plus, you could combine the actual marathon with a romantic holiday together too if you decide to take on a race anywhere from New York to Berlin!

5. Spend some time apart

While it’s key to any relationship to want to spend time together it’s also easy to forget about all the other parts of our lives we enjoyed before getting coupled up. From nights out with mates to weekends away with the girls these used to form an important part of who we were.

So why not start to return some of these to both of your lives? By widening your social circle again and spending a little more part doing things away from each other it’s sure to make you appreciate the time you have together even more. It’ll give you more to talk about, a stronger sense of being an individual and it’ll be fun too.

So hopefully these five tips will all help to put a little more zip into your relationship as well as making you fitter, healthier and maybe it’ll even turn you into an even better poker player too!
