Star Wars released on the silver screen in 1977, directed by George Lucas, who risked with such an ambitious project and won the bet. The Luke Skywalker’s story became an instant pop culture mania and after the original trilogy , the prequels arrived in the 90’s and early 2000’s.
We thought we had said goodbye to the Skywalker’s family, but Disney acquired the Star Wars’ rights from George Lucas and decided to go on with new stories.
Last year, J.J. Abrams resurrected successfully the saga with the VII episode which was a critical acclaimed box office success. He started a whole new cinematic world in the Star Wars Universe and Rogue One is part of it. A spin-off and prequel of the on-going trilogy, the upcoming movie will star Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso , Mads Mikkelsen as Galen Erso and Alan Tudyk, Diego Luna and Ben Mendelsohn.
What we know so far about the movie?
Rogue One will tell the story of a group of rebels, the Rebel Alliance leaded by Jyn Erso that will try to steal the plans for the Death Star. The story is set in the saga’s universe some time after the epic third installment: Star Wars Episode III- Revenge of the Sith.
