Ahmednagar Fort

This fort was built by Malik Shah Ahmed in 1427 CE and was the Headquarters of Ahmednagar Sultanate and considered as the second most impregnable fort in India. British rulers used this fort as a prison and Jawaharlal Nehru was kept here during Indian Independence Movement. The fort is round in appearance, with twenty-four bastions, one large gate, and three small sally ports
