Jama Masjid is one of the mosques in Ladakh. It is situated in the heart of Leh, the capital of the state. It houses a memorial known as Shahi Hamdan which is dedicated to a Muslim Sufi Saint, Mir Syed Ali Hamdani. The Jama Masjid was built as a part of an agreement made between the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and the king of Ladakh, Deldan Namgyal in 1666-67.
