To fulfill Parashurama’s wish for Lord Shiva to settle down in Kadri after his truthful penance, Lord Shiva along with Goddess Parvathi appeared as Manjunatha granting his wish. Built in the 10th century, the temple is made of stones, and the idol of Lord Manjunatha is made of Bronze. Surrounded by seven lakes (Sapthakoti Manthras) and gardens the Temple is a religious and a pleasant place for visiting. Caves surrounding the templeare said to be where the Pandavas lived. A natural spring at the backside of the temple, Gomukha is said to provide water for the seven ponds.
