Kanva Reservoir is located near Bangalore and Channapattana in between Ramanagara and Channapattana. It was constructed around in 1946 across the River Kanva (a tributary of the River Cauvery). River Kanva was named after a Sage, who was believed to have been living in this region during the time of Ramayana. 5 automatic Siphons, each with a displacement of 14000 cusecs of water are a part of Kanva Reservoir. It is also considered as an excellent picnic spot, providing you with facilities for fishing, camping and bird watching.
