The temple initially built in Kerala style in 1912, now renovated in 1991 to Chola style, is the shrine of Lord Gokarnanatha. It used to be the land of horses (Kudre) to graze during Tipu Sultan rule.Hence, this place is now called Kudroli. The temple is most popular place for avisit during Navarathri, luring people from all over Karnataka. Goddess Durga is beautifully dressed, along with life-size idols of Maha Ganapathi, Sharada Matha and Nava Durgas during ‘Mangalore Dasara’ (Navarathri) and are worshipped by devotees in huge numbers.
