Leh Palace bears resemblance in construction to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. This palace was constructed by King Sengge Namgyal during the 17th century. This palace is at present ruined, and is being restored by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). There are nine storeys in this palace. The royal family resides in the upper floors while store rooms along with stables lie on the lower ones. From the terrace of this palace, tourists can have an aerial view of the Leh Valley.
