Melghat Tiger Reserve

Amravati, India

Located in Satpura Hill Range in Amravati District is one the last area where Tigers are found in Maharashtra. This region was declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1967, and Tiger Reserve in 1974 .This reserve houses wild mammals including Tiger, Panther, Sloth Bear, Wild Dog, Jackal, Hyena, Chausinga, Sambar, Gaur, Barking Deer, Ratel, Flying squirrel, Cheetal, Nilgai, Wild Boar, Langur, Rhesus Monkey, and Macaque. Tapti River flows through the northern end of this reserve
