Narnala Fort

Akola, India

Located in Akot city of Akola District, this is a hill fortressnamed after the Rajput Ruler Narnal Singh. Established in 10 AD by Gond Kings, It consists of three small forts Zafarabadfort on the east, Narnala in the centre and Teliagarh to the west. This fort has 360 watchtowers, six large and twenty one small gates. This fort has four famous gates namely the Delhi darvaza, the Sirpurdarvaza, the Akotdarvaza, and the Shahanurdarvaza. This fort also houses Mahakali Temple, Rani Mahal, PeshvaMahal and a small mosque attributed to Aurangzeb.
