There are sundry smaller improvements, including the ability to preview fonts and edit motion graphics templates created in After Effects.

There are also eight new label colours to aid clip organisation. But shared project controls, extended VR support and the ability to load multiple projects are the killer new features.

Premiere Pro CC 2018 is both easier to use and now a serious contender for creating 360 content.

Review: Capterra

Overall: Creating video content has been most easy. We are able to put scraps or almost useless clips together to create a fine project for adverts that generate leads.

Pros: I so much love this software, its very easy to use, has plenty of features for editing the video clips to my exact need. It is definitely the best in ts category. Kudos to the developers

Cons: The customer service is rated zero. Complaints are never attended, the support personnel (who may be the developers, I can’t say) treat users as if users no nothing and they know everything which isn’t fair.

The essence of support/feedback centers is to note users complaints and improve on them but this develpers will not have that. I hope they improve

Pros: It’s an easy to use video editing software that lets you edit your video files in very short time, supports the most used video formats of the market and it lets you edit audio files as well.

What do you like best?

Unlike the vast majority of video editing software, pinnacle studio offers a very simple package of tools, which are necessary for an editor who is in full training, without oversaturating the tools.

The best thing is that it is very easy to learn to use it since it works with a simple interface and therefore it is excellent to create videos for web, it is also fun to create in this software since you manage to represent highly creative and high quality video scenarios.

What do you dislike?

I really do not find big problem, since it is a software for simple and fast video editing, however you could improve elements such as adding more effects for the editing, since it is one of the most determining factors in a video.

In addition, they could add more free plug-ins to encourage the buyer to acquire the complete software. But really everything excellent.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It is useful, I really could not say that it is for use in works that weigh too much, but it is ideal for web works and short films.

Where others have failed pinnacle studio has helped me. In my area of work is a fast and agile tool that has allowed me to edit videos quickly and easily, I will definitely always recommend it.

Review: Capterra

Pros: The thing I like most if the ease of use after fully understanding what everything does.

It looks intimidating and complicated if you’re a new user of blender, but after looking at a few tutorials of what you want to do in it, whether it be animation, character modeling, prop modeling, whatever it may be, it becomes easier to do and to understand.

You do have to learn a little bit on your own, but as far as I have been using it, since 2015, I haven’t ran into anything I can’t do without a little bit of googling.

Cons: The thing I liked least about this software when starting out was, as I said in the pros, it is intimidating to look at when being a new user of the software. It stressed me out when I didn’t know where to begin, however, this was easy to get over with some googling and a little bit of tutorials that didn’t cost me a lot of time, for a big payout after I learned the software.

Overall: This is the 3D modeling program I use. I use it with a texturing software and a rendering software and sell my 3D models I make with it. It has helped me grow my business of making 3D props for game developers.

Review: G2

What do you like best?

It fits really well within the Adobe Ecosystem. The integration with Audition is fantastic as soon as a release ready audio is completed it can be imported with a few clicks and no delay or workflow interruption into Premiere in sharp contrast with ACID Pro. I’m in charge of audio creation and video editing is normally another guy job but when the deadline for a video is short because it needs to be released we work together in the live Premier Project instead of taking turns like we usually do when the deadline is a little more flexible and passing the project files between us doesn’t slow us down.

What do you dislike?

It is very resource-heavy. Since I’m only working on the Audio part whenever I’m using Premiere I ask if a lower res (720p or 1080p version) of the project is available because otherwise I’m bound to my desktop and I like to also use my laptop and its 16GB Ram isn’t always enough to run it smoothly.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I add the finishing sound bits to a video whenever extra manpower is needed.

Review: Capterra

Overall: Nero 9 is grateful to have given me the possibility of having in my own home and office a software that gives me independence when editing, burning and copying information of various kinds. Before I had to go to professionals to protect my information by creating backup copies in different formats. Now I do that with a friendly program and for an affordable price.

Pros: Nero 9 is a software that allows me to copy, edit, record and extract music, images and video with incredible ease. Particularly I have been impressed by the possibility of recording DVD and Blu-ray movies, with a professional quality that I have never experienced before with other products. Nero 9 is a great tool that I would recommend to anyone.

Cons: Nero 9 sometimes has flaws when trying to convert a video so that it can be played on other media players that do not support the original format. So when trying to burn a DVD I get “error in transcoding the videos” which means you have to cancel the process. I think that’s one of the most common failures that Nero 9 has.

Whats special about the editor is its great library of Hollywood movie tones that instantly renders a cutting edge to any video.

Review: Steam

GoPlay Editor is a combined screen recorder and video editor built into a single package. It is simple to use with some nice features. It does not offer select-window recording, which would be much preferred. Also no streaming option, which could be the primary function that some people would look for as well.

There is a free demo available to try before you commit, plus free mobile versions on Android and iOS available to try with similarly functional features. Bottom line is that it is quite functional, very few settings needs adjusting, and it is easy to use.

Some previous reviews here mention crashing and data loss, but I recorded 5 videos so far, without any crash or loss (longest was only 15 minutes though, unsure about longer/larger projects). Its simplicity is direct at an everyday audience who does not have a ton of experience recording and editing.

Review: G2

What do you like best?

I love the versatility that iMovie provides. I am able to edit videos quickly and I can even trim songs and convert them as MP3s. iMovie is probably the best movie editor short of Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects. I have been using iMovie to edit sermons and my own entertainment videos. Well it doesn’t offer the most advanced special effects, the tools are sufficient to produce quality quick films or even piecing together individual clips into a full featured length production. Having a Mac or Apple device with iMovie is such a timesaver. iMovie is my go to for quickly editing or trimming songs and videos. It even has its amazing feature where you can upload your finished video into YouTube or Facebook. Does it get any better than that? Set my favorite tools picture-in-picture where I can overlay images or clips.

What do you dislike?

The sheer size of iMovie can be such a bummer. It takes up about 2 GB or more of the space of my MacBook Pro. The other downside of iMovie is that the effects and tools are very limited. My biggest annoyance with iMovie is continue changes on titles that either overlay a part of a clip or the beginning of a clip often times continue to increase font spacing/kerning on the video and there’s no clear way to fix that outside of starting the video over.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

iMovie is allowing me quick solutions to editing clips and audio and I’m able to quickly deliver content to my audience or to my clients. iMovie has been such a saving grace because it allows me to export quality video set isn’t fuzzy or low resolution. It’s also allow me to continue to provide content to my audience without having to rely on a web browser or the Internet. I can export and save these products to my thumb drive or SD memory card and upload them elsewhere.

What do you like best?

VideoPad is a simple video editor which is good for anybody to use to record videos etc, or to edit any quick videos. It’s lightweight and easy to use. There is a free version for anybody wanting to just test out the software and this allows people to get a good taste of what they are paying for (if they like the software and decide to pay for it).

What do you dislike?

There are a couple flaws with VideoPad, the program is not the most stable and can experience some performance issues whilst using it. The user interface is pretty old and outdated (something like Windows Movie Maker) and there is little to no support for animated videos with special effects etc. It’s a simple video editor.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With VideoPad we are recording our church services LIVE and then we are able to quickly edit any changes that need to be made and export after the service.

Pros: The product is completely free, with no limitations. You can also create your own shortcuts to start streaming/recording. More functionalities are also available for users who need more control.

Cons: Shortcut seem not to always work on the first hit, and some users might find it difficult to use the more advanced functions. Sometimes records a blank screen when trying to record over videogames or other programs running in borderless fullscreen.

Overall: I use OBS almost on a daily basis for work, and even more often for personal purposes. At first I had some trouble setting it up, but after a few minutes it’s really straightforward. I can now record my entire screen in its original resolutions, with no watermarks, completely for free.

The ease and simplicity of this software helps us cut down on the production time. This is an inexpensive and easy way for someone to start making great looking video / animated presentations. One of the features I really appreciate is the ability to use real video as a background. Some of the other presentation software I’ve used does not have that ability. They also lay out the different layers in a timeline similar to what you might find in many other video editing software… so the layout seems familiar if you have some video editing experience. I also appreciate the ability to set the timing for the transitions instead of only getting a defaulted time.

What do you like best?

With this software, a large number of our students create their own and team designs and we are very pleased with this ability to be able to do that work with the highest quality possible Filmora software. With this software, we can easily perform the required tasks and it contains all the necessary tools and In the past, we had to use two or three pieces of software to complete the video creation and now Filmora is the best solution to do all that work. All the presentations videos I make for lectures are done through this software and this software can be used very well even on a normal computer.

What do you dislike?

We use this without any problems. If you can add new tools to this software, it will be easier’ for example, the Mask tool

We have purchased a large software package of this software from Filmora and currently have 108 computers with 4 computer labs installed on this software. In fact, by purchasing this software from our own company, we can save the monthly out-of-company costs for video and presentations, and we can give our students a good experience with the Filmora software by successfully doing their own experimental designs.

What do you like best?

Well, it’s free for the base version so you can try it out. And for most people, that by itself is enough to get by! But if you needed to make some high resolution festival content, the lifetime license is super affordable. It includes audio mastering, an excellent (cinema grade) color grading suite, special effects, and professional level non-linear editing all in one piece of software.

So three to four Adobe Creative Cloud programs built into one!

What do you dislike?

…but the software can be unstable and unusable on lower-end computers, it is quite different than the layout and basic workflow of Adobe’s Creative Cloud software, and you have to export your content inside of Resolve (where Adobe CC has Media Encoder as an option, and can be run while Premiere or other programs are closed).

Really, the Media Encoder is the only thing I’m missing.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

This is saving me over $600 per year for the Adobe and related subscription fees for other software. Plus, I can use one program instead of having to bounce between three or four. Plus, now I don’t need to pay for the software for people to help me with editing and content creation – they can get a copy of the software for free!

Review: Capterra

Overall: It has really given me the opportunity to understand vfx and compositing a lot better. A lot of the films I’ve made over the years would never have been possible without this software’s amazing rotoscoping U.I and compositing features. With regards to just the editing side of things, it’s not really for me. However, it has never crashed before. Even when I did a 10 minute video which used about 10 different composite shots it still rendered without a fault.

Pros: One word: Rotoscoping. Nothing, and I mean nothing (that’s free), can beat the rotoscoping tools that Hitfilm Express offers. I love the entire U.I for rotoscoping- it’s simple and easy to use. Other free softwares like Davinci Resolve offer the same feature but don’t come close to how easy it is to composite a vfx shot in Hitfilm Express. Another pro is its FREE vfx library. They offer almost everything- from fires to explosions to lightning. All come with endless settings to adjust them to your liking. Want your explosion to be larger? No problem. Want more smoke? Sure. Want more BOOM? You can change that too. It’s hard to come by a free software with such vfx functionality like Hitfilm Express. Another pro is the tracker U.I. I find it so easy to use it when I need text to stay in one place in the shot. Just to get that professional look, you know?

Cons: Features are a bit limited. They really want you to buy the full paid version (Hitfilm) so if you use too many vfx options or features as a whole, your video gets watermarked. The editing side of the software is also not the best out there. I find the U.I to be rather unappealing in design and functionality. Another con, and probably the biggest one for me, is the intrusive export error that I sometimes get after using it for a while. This means that I have to save, exit the software and re-enter it for it to work.
