I have used the Codenvy software for creating many projects for a learning point of view. The Codenvy is totally cloud-based software means you no need to worry about the infrastructure setting. It has supported a large number of programming languages which makes this tool more robust. It also provides 3GB free memory for running and testing the project on the Codenvy premises. Furthermore, with the help of Docker functionality, the developer can easily develop code. The main benefit which I supposed this tool provides is very important for any developer that is portability. In case of any issue, your code is automatically saved in the Codenvy hosted environment. It is a fantastic tool for learning different types of programming languages.

I need to mention here some areas of improvement required for the software for example user interface should be appealing, and sometimes during development software halt(because of the low internet connectivity issue, the tool should be capable of handling this situation).

I learned a lot of programming languages with this tool. I did not need to install software for different programming languages.

Definitely has a learning curve since there are so many features and many different ways to achieve the same outcome, but good support docs and a very active community to share knowledge/best practise. Lots of data source options available, with great Google integrations which will only get stronger presumably, now Appsheet is a Google owned company. Fun to use!

UX options are slightly limited but these are improving gradually.

We use Appsheet to run the logistics for our Ski Touring and Mountaineering holiday company (Alpine Guides Ltd). Our app is mainly used on desktop and manages various aspects of the business that are not handled by our booking/payment system and accounting software. These aspects were previously managed via a series of connected spreadsheets which were very tedious to use and so we were always on the lookout for a better way, without spending tens of thousands on a bespoke/inflexible system.

It’s based on an open source platform (Angular) which means I’m not locked in to their service and I’m free to host my code on my own server.

Pros: GitHub is a great Source Code Management platform for our company. We’ve been hassling with finding out where a specific bug occurred, and hassled with manually testing code, but with GitHub, we automated a huge part! Since GitHub is a known platform, there are many integrations, which helps us with testing and notifying, and as well finding at what commit a specific issue occurred! Since it provides a good UI, viewing information and reading code is easy to do from the website, and development can be done easily using the CLI or GitHub’s GUI. Most CI/CD solutions are supporting GitHub, so deploying from GitHub isn’t a hassle!
Cons: GitHub is pretty advanced. We have thought about letting our Customer Service use GitHub for reporting issues and letting them have conversations with engineers, but it ended up with lots of questions, since GitHub’s design isn’t that simple.

I don’t really have many complaints about this software. It didn’t take much contemplation for our group to decide this app was what we wanted to use to develop a centralized communication point for our church’s congregation.
