Sugary drinks help bacteria breed faster in the mouth, which in turn causes cavities, and if you must take them, use a straw.

What you also consume matters, and you may have to keep sugary snacks such as sweets, cakes, and biscuits at a minimum.

Go for healthier snacks such as apples, sugarcane, and carrots, which also help strengthen teeth. Starches such as bread, rice, or pasta remain in the mouth longer and turn to simple sugars, which lead to decaying of teeth.
