Anxiety disorders affect between 13 and 18% of the Singapore tuition student, but it is true that we all experience various forms of anxiety throughout our lives. The mental state of anxiety is often defined by feelings of fear, anxiety, discomfort or fear. It is often forward-looking, which means that our anxieties are about possible threats or negative experiences that have not yet occurred.
Many factors can contribute to our anxiety (and our more general mental health). In this section, I will consider some of the most common causes of anxiety as well as some possible treatment options for each one. However, it is important to remember that because our anxiety can be attributed to a wide range of different variables, it is often better to incorporate multiple treatment options simultaneously.
Some gene variants may be associated with higher levels of anxiety. We all have different biological makeups among Singapore tuitions, and sometimes individuals may experience an increased level of anxiety for no other reason than being integrated into their genetic code. These genes essentially cause chemical imbalances in the brain that lead to your anxiety.
If your biology guides your anxiety, you may receive medication prescribed by a professional psychiatrist. Beware, however, that many of these prescriptions can have negative side effects (you can go through several different medications before finding the best – a good psychiatrist will help you through this process). Also make sure that if other medication factors cause your anxiety, this will only serve as a quick fix, but is not going to solve the problems of your life. You may need to supplement your medication with other treatments.
Anxiety can also be caused by physical inactivity and poor nutrition. When we do not treat our body, it can often affect our mental state. If we do not eat balanced meals and get all the nutrition we need, it often means that our brain does not get enough nutrition. This prevents our brain from functioning as effectively as it could, which could very well contribute to more anxiety.
Physical activity is also crucial to our physical and mental health. Running, playing sports, going to the gym, dancing, and anything that provides exercise is a great way to relieve the stress and anxiety that can build up over days or weeks. It is essential that we have a way to channel hormones (such as adrenaline and cortisol) positively and healthily. Otherwise, they manifest as stress and anxiety.
If you no longer take care of your body, you will probably be surprised at how much less stressed and anxious you would be if you started taking care of your health. Try to do small things like replacing soda with water, eating less cake, jogging several times a week, or being more aware of what you eat, and you will begin to feel better both physically and mentally.
