Fruit Flies: Trap fruit flies by filling up a half a glass of water with a few drops of orange essential oil. Top the glass with a plastic wrap and then poke a few holes in it to make sure the flies stay trapped inside.
Mosquitoes: Next time you wash your clothes, add a few drops of mint or lavender essential oil to the rinse cycle. The light scent will be enough to prevent mosquitoes from flocking to you.
2. Remove Household Odors
Once you know how to get started with essential oils, you can easily use them to remove common household odors.

Trash Cans: Drop a few dabs of essential oil onto a tissue, place the tissue in a trash can, and voila! This will leave any home smelling better

Cabinets: Cabinets can begin to smell musty over time. Frankincense and vanilla are both great essential oils for eliminating musty smells. Put a few drops of one of these oils on a cotton ball and place the cotton ball in the cabinet to eliminate the smell of must.
Mists and Sprays: Mix in a few drops of your favorite smelling essential oil with water to give a fresh scent to any room.
3. Cleaning
Essential oils can be real superhero when it comes to taking care of hard-to-clean surfaces. Here are a few ways to use it for cleaning:
Scratches in Wood: Hide scratches in wood by using turmeric oil.
Burnt Pan: Clean a burnt pan by placing a thin layer of dish soap in the burnt pan, then then adding in about 10 to 15 drops of lemon essential oil. Let the mixture sit for about 30 minutes, then add some warm water, stir it, and let it sit for another 30 minutes. Finally, wash it out and rinse it.
