The wealthiest people in the world are often asked what the secret of their success has been. Whilst everyone has their own story to tell, what is striking is the similarity in their daily habits and values.
It is hard to not then attribute the success of the great, at least in part, to these shared habits and values – and maybe it is a lesson for us all to learn from.
1. They Never Stop Learning
Read every day, learn every day and never pass off the opportunity to sit before an expert in their field and listen to their own success story. Knowledge is power and the more you know, the more you could be.
2. They Exercise
A healthy body equals a healthy mind, and a healthy body gets us up and out of bed and going for the day quicker and with as much gusto as is needed to achieve what the day throws at you.
3. They Focus On Their Own Goals
Know what you want and go for it. Getting distracted by focusing on someone else’s goals will knock yours off track. Focus on what you want to achieve and let nothing distract you from reaching that finishing line.
4. They Are Early To Rise
Nothing is achieved from sleeping in. Successful people know that to get to where you want to go, you first have to get up and get going. Rise before your closest adversary and you already start the day a step ahead of the game.
5. They Have A Positive Mental Attitude
Life is not always easy – but keeping a positive attitude helps us tackle the hard times with smile and ready to pick right back up where we left off. Positivity is the lifeblood of creativity and a negative outlook is not going to motivate you to that next big idea.
6. The Help Others To Succeed
Support those around you and you’ll create a team of successful individuals working together to achieve even greater things – success is rarely achieved along so nurture those around you who can help you reach your goals.
7. They Never Stop Looking To Their Mentors
No-one successful ever stops learning – whether from those around them or from their own mistakes. We are all constantly learning and growing, so it makes sense to keep your mentor close and develop and evolve together.
8. They Take Time To Thing Everyday
Take time to stop and think – every day. We never know what each day will bring and ideas and plans rarely work out as expected so having a chance to reflect, reevaluate and reconsider every day – whether needed or not – creates a safe place to adapt and consider, and who knows what others ideas might come up in these moments of mindfulness.
9. They Seek Feedback And Opportunities To Improve
No-one knows everything, and we all only have our own perspective on the world. Seeking out the feedback and reflections of as many people as possible give us the more complete picture to see what we can’t through our own ideas. Whether criticism or acclaim, these can all let us know whether we are on the right path.
10. More Than One Source Of Income
Those who are the most successful know that they need a piece of more than one pie if they are going to maximize their success. As well as minimizing the risk, it also creates more channels to success.
11. Use Failure As A Motivator
Very rarely do people succeed first time, and perhaps those who never make it let the first failure bring their ambitions to a grounding halt. Failure can be hard to take – we are human – but take that positive mental attitude, pick yourself off, think about what went wrong and
