We may be led to believe that we know Christianity, its history, gospels and everything. The fact is Christianity is not just about the birth of Jesus, some stuff on free love, and a religion that his followers revel in today.
There are embarrassing chapters. There are awkward and terrifying chapters and comical stuff for your average Sunday priest to handle. Christians are not afraid to change, nor do they wince at comical depiction of their faith.
Over its 2000 years of existence, Christian beliefs have gone on through several phases without holding on to the same beliefs. Yet, its core beliefs are strong and solid. Things on fringes have come and gone.
Al Hartley, while working for Archie Comics wrote and drew many Christian comics with permission to use the Archie characters. There are other comics based on Christian movies, novels, and true stories.
