They have in the past been mistaken for UFOS. When the moist air flow encounters obstructions, such as landforms or buildings, standing waves in the atmosphere are created. As the air condenses, the odd-shaped clouds are made. Seen here captured in various locations around the world, they form when strong, wet winds blow over rough terrain.

They sometimes resemble tornadoes mid-strike and have frequently been mistaken for UFOs in the past. In fact, these are lenticular clouds. They look incredible and look like UFOs disguised in the clouds, who knows some may be real UFOs in disguise, hovering over landscapes from Mount Fuji to Alaska and beyond.
