Some foods that help protect the eye include leafy vegetables like kale, spinach, collards, Salmon, oily fish, and oranges, among other juices.
Eating healthy is also part of maintaining a healthy weight, reducing instances of obesity, type 2 diabetes and related diseases that significantly contribute to blindness among adults.
Wearing Safety Eyewear
In some instances, wearing sunglasses is an essential part of work requirements when dealing with hazardous or airborne substances in their homes or jobs.
There are also sports like hockey, lacrosse, aviation, and fishing games which require the use of protective eye gear and sunglasses to serve different instances of eye protection.

- It is advisable to avoid looking at phone and laptop screens for a long. Still, in instances where individuals have no option with having to look at the computer screen for many hours being one of the essential requirements, it is advisable to see a doctor about computer glasses.
- Positioning the monitor or laptop screen is also crucial, and individuals are urged to place the eye at level with the top of the monitor to look slightly down at the screen.
- There is an alternative option which can include fitting antiglare screens to avoid the glare from lights or windows.
