When is Indian Railways Liable to Give 100% Rebate?

Indian Railways is also liable to make a 100% refund to passengers, under these 5 circumstances.

1. Train delay of 3 hours or more

In case a train reaches its starting station with a delay of 3 hours or more, the passengers will be liable for a 100% refund on their Tatkal ticket. However, if the starting station and boarding station are different, then the passengers will not be liable for any refund.

 

2. If the train route is diverted

If a train route is diverted and passengers are not willing to travel via that route, then passengers will be refunded 100% on their Tatkal ticket.

 

3. Both boarding and destination stations are not on route

In case, the train route is diverted and both boarding and destination stations are not there on the route, then passengers will get a full rebate.

 

4. Railway carriage/Bogie is not attached

If the tatkal quota carriage is not attached to the train and the passenger is not provided with the facilities, as per his booking class, then he is accountable for a 100% refund.

 

5. Facilities as per booked class unavailable

If a passenger does not get the facilities as per his booked ticket class, then he can claim 100% refund.

 

6. Passenger books a higher quota and travels in a lower quota

In case, a passenger has booked his ticket in higher quota, but travelled through a lower quota, then he can claim a full rebate.
