Staying motivated takes willpower and lots of work. The best way to get motivated and stay that way is through embracing one’s life and remaining positive throughout the journey. It is important to keep your life goal oriented. By setting goals you are giving yourself the challenge and then holding yourself accountable to those goals. Surround yourself with winners. People that are on the same path as you and know what they and you want out of life.

Below are some tips to help you stay motivated in the midst of negativity:

1. Set Goals

Write down your goals no matter how outrageous or minuscule. If you only can think of one to start, then go all out to reach that one goal. Just remember the word TRY needs to be deleted from your dictionary. You are on the road to success, there is no longer room for the word try. That word is now considered a curse word in your vocabiulary. You will replace TRY with I WILL!

2. Visualize Goals

Sit down in a quiet room and take time to think about that goal. Whatever it is that you want to achieve. Now close your eyes and SEE IT. VISUALIZE that rock hard body that you are going to work towards, or see yourself looking at your bank statement and you just received a $10,000 paycheck. Whatever it may be, VISUALIZE it then CAPTURE IT!

3. No Negativity Allowed

No Negativity Allowed

You don’t have time to be, nor do you have the time to be around anyone that allows or creates negativity. This will only pull you away from your goals. Thoughts or verbage that suggest you can’t do something, or something is to difficult, or there is no way that can be done need to be slaughtered from your vocabulary and your brain. Let’s replace the verbage with I will dominate, I can’t be stopped, if they could do it then so can I. As my favorite motivational speaker Grant Cardone says, “Champions dominate, wannabes compete!” Keeping the WILL DO IT attitude is what will keep you motivated today and in the future.

4. Dealing With Haters & Negative Nellys

To stay motivated is to STAY AWAY from those who criticize or complain. There are always going to be haters and people who say you can’t do it. The best advice I can give on this is not to engage them. If they see that you are going to keep on moving and their comments aren’t working they will eventually give up. Remember these are people who possess no life goals and therefore can’t be committed to anything. Therefore, they aren’t going to just start committing to driving you crazy. If they see you concentrating on your work in the midst of there criticism they will see their words have no bearing and they will get bored.

5. E=Effort

E=Effort

Staying motivated requires effort and a never take no for an answer attitude. So this is not to say that you may experience a lag in motivation at times. The most important thing to do is NEVER GIVE UP. If this happens to you, take a little break, breathe, review those goals and KEEP ON PUSHIN!
