Sadhguru, the founder of Isha Foundation, is an Indian guru and yogi. He wears both blue jeans and a loincloth with style and comfort. Whether he is walking barefoot in the Himalayas or riding on his BMW motorcycle, he remains happy and content with everything.
Sadhguru cannot be called your average spiritual leader. He does not practice everyday rituals and customs. He uses yogic sciences to alter modern-day living and thus has touched the lives of many people bringing a change to their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
If we talk of Sadhguru’s childhood, it is strange that he never showed any interest in the traditional learning methods. As he grew up, he became interested in God and life. But he did not get his spiritual experience until he was 25 years old.
Often Sadhguru would skip classes to go out and revel in nature. During his occasional trips, he developed an affection for nature, particularly the trees. He was fascinated by the movement of trees and then discovered meditation.
Once in 1982, he went up Chamundi hill. While he was sitting on a rock, he discovered what spirituality is. He still refers to that experience as a dimensional shift. He was able to gain a deep understanding of life. He also underwent a significant change in his physical appearance.
Intending to modify life, Sadhguru launched Isha Foundation in 1993. The organization is non-religious, non-profit, and run entirely by volunteers.
Over the past few years, Sadhguru’s reach has spread worldwide. He often speaks at international forums, thus sharing his opinion on environmental protection, education, and economic development. Now his yoga programs are followed in multiple countries like the United States, Singapore, Canada, China, Australia, and Nepal. Sadhguru is a visionary and thus finds no problem in seeking divine help while fulfilling his daily responsibilities.
