We all love taking tons of pictures and recording hours of videos during the holiday season. It only seems natural that we want to preserve the most valuable memories we share with the people we care about, but more often than not some of the most epic moments from our holidays remain buried on our hard drives.
We share a few videos on our social media accounts, but the majority of videos we record on our holidays never sees the light of the day.
As soon as we return to our daily routines, we become preoccupied with mundane tasks, and we forget about all the stunning moments we experienced during the holidays.
But you can easily change all this with Filmora9, a video editing software for Mac and PC computers that enables you to create inspiring videos effortlessly. Here’s how you can use Filmora9 to save the precious moments from your holidays.
Starting A New Project In Filmora9
Find that folder that contains the footage you’d like to save from the oblivion, and try to sort out which video clips you can use to create a video.
This process is far from simple, as we all know, but you don’t need a lot of material to create a video that lasts a couple of minutes. So just try to find video clips that fit well together and you are ready to start saving precious memories.
Double-click on Filmora9’s desktop icon, and once the welcome window appears on the screen, simply click on the New Project option.
The editor will load immediately after you create a new project, and you can then proceed to import video clips. You can do this by clicking on the Import drop-down menu in the Media panel or by simply dragging the files from a folder in which they are stored and dropping them to the Media panel.
After importing the footage to your project you can start positioning it on the timeline. Filmora9 lets you create up to a hundred video tracks, so you don’t necessarily have to place all videos on the same track.
In case you would like to remove parts of video clips from the timeline, all you have to do is position the playhead at the exact location in a clip where you want to make a cut and click on the Spit icon that looks like a pair of scissors.
Repeat this process as many times as necessary until you removed all the parts of the video clips you don’t want to include in the final cut of your video. You can then add transitions in order to make the cuts between the clips smoother. Simply click on the Transition tab located in the upper right corner of the editor’s window.
You can choose from more than a hundred different transitions, and you can add the ones you like the most to your project by just dragging and dropping them to a specific location on the timeline.
Next to the Transition tab, you can find the Effects tab that contains hundreds of filters and overlays, you can use to enhance your videos. You can customize each effect after you add it to the timeline by double-clicking on it and fine-tuning its settings.
Head over to the Audio tab if you want to create a soundtrack for your video. Filmora9’s music library contains an impressive collection of royalty-free songs you can use in your projects. Furthermore, there are more than twenty sound effects that might help you make your vacation video more entertaining or even more dramatic.
Exporting Projects From Filmora9
Once you’re done editing the video and the audio you should click on the Export button, and choose whether you want to export your vacation video to your computer hard drive or upload it directly to your YouTube or Vimeo account.
Filmora9 allows you to export videos in resolutions up to 4K, and you can easily select the option that best fits the demands of your project by clicking on the Settings button and selecting one of the available options in the Resolution drop-down menu.
Saving the most precious memories from your holidays is easy with Filmora9 because you can create amazing videos with this video editor even if you have never edited a video before.
