In August, 2017, CrashPlan sent coffee spitting out of mouths everywhere when its users woke up to the news that the company would be withdrawing from the consumer backup competition. CrashPlan made the move, ostensibly, to focus solely on its business customers.
While that’s a tough break for consumers given CrashPlan’s popularity as a home computer backup solution, the added product attention is likely good news for business owners. Here at Cloudwards.net, we already rank CrashPlan for Small Business (formerly CrashPlan PRO) as one of the best cloud backup for business solutions available today.

SpiderOak became well-known several years ago for offering strongly encrypted backup services that not even the company could crack open — a “no knowledge” feature that made the service attractive to privacy fanatics. But since then, many other online-backup services have begun to offer something similar.

Pros: Unlimited storage. Good performance. Effective desktop and mobile apps. Versioning.
Cons: Expensive. No File Explorer integration. Lacks high-level backup and security options. Cancelling an account is tedious.
Bottom Line: Livedrive works well and delivers unlimited online storage, but it doesn’t offer top-level backup options, such as separate scheduling and a truly continuous option.

Enterprise-class secure data protection for all of your business computers, servers, Exchange, SQL, NAS and mobile devices.

IDrive doesn’t boast the most features or the lowest prices of any online-backup service, but it has pieced together the best balance of features and value for owners of multiple computers who don’t have massive storage needs.
IDrive Personal has virtually every “nice to have” feature that is on our list, save for unlimited storage, making it an easy recommendation for anyone who can stay within the reasonably priced 2TB storage tier. IDrive Personal backs up phones, offers a syncing option, has unlimited versioning and lets you quickly “seed” your account by sending in a hard drive with your data. If you’re willing to spend more, there’s a 5TB plan, which should be enough for most people, for $100 per year.
The top-secret feature is your secure bank vault where it’s technically impossible for anyone but you to access your uploaded files. We achieve that through two parts:
Zero knowledge Encryption
Your files are encrypted with a passphrase known only by you, not stored anywhere in Degoo.
The files are encoded into chunks and spread out to data centers in different countries. No single data center has enough data to access the entire file.
We’re as easily enticed by free storage as the next person, here at Cloudwards.net, so we decided to put Degoo through our usual review process: to see if it stacks up to the competition.
Degoo bills itself as a cloud backup, not cloud storage, service. If you’re unclear on the difference, here’s a primer on the subject. But, in a nutshell, it means Degoo isn’t geared towards work productivity like Dropbox or Sync.com are.

ElephantDrive is natively integrated with leading NAS devices. No need for mapping the NAS to your computer!
The Everywhere folder automatically syncs across devices. Start working at the office desktop, pickup where you left off from your laptop at home.
Pros: The price is competitive. And it works at least as well as Dropbox for my incremental backups. I think it wins on the syncing side. Just seems more reliable in that respect. They had a free trial so I could play with it and see how it was. I liked it.
Cons: I wish file size didn’t have limits, so I can backup large backup files. That seems pretty universal though.
Overall: It is hard to decide between Elephant Drive and Dropbox. I get much more free storage with Dropbox, but all in all, I prefer the interface and reliability of Elephant Drive. Especially on th eAndroid app.
