In India there is 57-days-time-limit for moving a film from theater to home. Amazon does not have a TV channel, hence the live streaming sites like Amazon for full post-theatrical rights for Indian film.
For the director Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy is the third consecutive hit. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Dil Dhadkane Do were also hit at box offices.

Five Interesting Facts About Gully Boy You Should Know:
1. This film is not a biopic of Divine or Neazy. This is a completely fictional story inspired by the lives of Divine and Naezy.
2. Superhit song Apna Time Aayega (Our days will come) have been penned by the legendary Javed Akhtar and Divine.
3. Initially, Divine wrote Sabka time aayega (Everybody’s days will come), which was later slightly modified as Apna Time Aayega by Javed Akhtar.
4. The song Asli hip-hop, another popular song from the film, was written by Spitfire. His name was recommended by Ranveer Singh who had worked with him for a music video of a clothing brand.
5. Most of the film was shot in the remote slums of Dharavi. This gave the film a never seen before raw elements.
