Can you tell us how many videos you watched last month? Can you tell us the type of videos they were? If you are an ordinary functioning individual, these videos could be anything from How-to instructional, cooking, cleaning, code debugging, smartphone reviews, creepy Echo fails, to cute kittens.
Thanks to the unabated access to online video platforms and forums, once a video goes online, it will stay online until Google, and other authorities deem it inappropriate or disturbing.
1. Why Do You Need To Focus On Media Coaching For Social Media?
It is safe to say that at the end of the month; no sane person remembers all the videos they have watched on their phone and laptop. However, it is easy to say that they have viewed them on YouTube, Vimeo, TED Talk or Periscope. That is the nature of video marketing and social media marketing.
Once your interview is out there anyone, and everyone will have access to it from all corners of the world. That should tell you how important it is to opt for media coaching before you make your professional interview or guidance video.
2. Your Video Is Far From Perfect
Sometimes, people wonder why they even need any form of media training since they are about to speak with their fan following or customers face-to-face via video. People often fail to realize that they will be talking to the public through that recording.
On the video, one needs to be casual, direct and interactive to welcome more comments on the profile, more shares, and activities. You may have been doing this for the last 12 months now.
That is a long time on social media, but have you made a breakthrough regarding traffic or conversions? In the case of video recording, speaking makes you perfect, but only if you are considering the feedback.
3. Scrap The Anecdotes That Don’t Make Much Sense
Breaking the tension is necessary at times, and we are partial towards a great one-liner, but jokes can be risky. If you plan on including a joke in your upcoming dialog, practice it at home and in front of a neutral public.
Note their immediate reactions. Never ask a friend, a good friend will never give you their honest opinion. When unsure about a joke, know that you are treading dangerous terrains. Scrap the gag and carry on with the next part.
4. Maintain A Conversational Tone
Always pretend to be in a conversation. You can be conversing with your friends, colleagues or classmates. Speak as if you are speaking to someone of your business acumen, but make sure to use simple words.
Stay away from jargons. Listeners do not like a “know-it-all” speaker, who seems demeaning. The audience needs to feel an immediate connect to you as you start speaking.
Aim For A Strong Finish
You will never forget the end of the video. Although you will not have a live audience to give you a standing ovation, you will have the ratings climbing high enough to simulate the same feelings. Always remember to finish strong and preferably not with the joke you just scrapped earlier.
