Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, veteran travelers will tell you that packing is serious business.

Here are some tips you can follow so that traveling would be easier on your next trip.

Top 5 Travel Packing Tips

1. Find Out The Rules And Regulations Of Your Airline When It Comes To Baggage

international travel packing tips

This is important as it seems that every airline has their own sets of rules and regulations when it comes to baggage, so you need to be aware what those are.

Especially if you’ve purchased tickets that were on sale, or you bought your tickets from budget airlines as they may have restrictions on the weight of your baggage, which could be a problem, especially if you are bringing bulky things like a guitar, or even sports equipment.

2. Bring Extra Storage

best travel packing tips

If you are traveling for a vacation, there’s no doubt that you will be tempted to bring with you some souvenirs to not only remind you of your travel but to also give to some special people in your life.

That’s why it’s a good idea to bring some extra storage with you. Foldable duffle bags are a great idea as they are always on the list for useful gift ideas for travelers.

They are small enough that even if you will not have the opportunity to use it, they will not take up too much space when you are packing.

3. Research On The Weather So You Can Pack The Appropriate Clothes

air travel packing tips

It’s important to know the kind of weather that will greet you in your destination. Especially for places where the weather might be unpredictable.

Take a look at the weather forecasts and prepare. If it’s going to be hot at your destination then you do not need to bring bulky outerwear, and if it’s cold, you can bring necessities such as an umbrella.

What you can do with your clothes is to bring some pieces which you can mix and match, and also layer, just in case it gets chilly.

Bringing too many clothes might be a burden as they are heavy.

4. Pack A Suitcase For A Week

travel packing tips and tricks

Don’t just put things together in one luggage without separating them into sections.

If it’s a business/vacation trip, make sure to have separate areas for the clothes solely for business and those that are for sightseeing.

There are many ways you can do that, such as vacuum bags, etc.

There are even small bags you can get that have already been labeled so you can just get whatever you need without bringing out everything inside your luggage.

5. Put Your Essentials On Your Carry On Bag

business travel packing tips

It might not happen often, but there are times when the airline might lose your luggage, so it would be a good idea to bring some essentials with you on your carry-on.

You should have your gadgets, including your chargers inside your carry-on, along with a set of clothes that you can wear in case you will not get your luggage right away.

So amazing. My daughter requires a lot of hair product for her hair and it is always a hassle packing it in a suitcase or bag. I found this product and thought 100% I must buy.

I’m very glad I did, when packing, it fits a full-size shampoo and conditioner (though I opted for a smaller bottle only because I could use it for both my daughter and myself), leave in conditioner, curling creme, hair oil, deodorant, toothpaste (full size), electric toothbrush, regular toothbrush, floss, contact lenses solution and case. and it packed and closed wonderfully. definitely would buy again.

The material is honestly a little flimsy and one of the zippers doesn’t work quite right. But aside from that, this worked great.

It’s a wonderful compact size for traveling, but still fit everything I needed. Somewhat water resistant but dries out quickly. Would definitely recommend, especially for the price.

Excellent bag for a carry-on. Fits under seat on delta flights (not sure about other aircrafts) it has pockets on the sides and smaller ones in the front for toiletries and the main compartment is pretty deep for its size.

Use it for business travels (usually are 4 days long). Now if you’re a person who needs to pack 1/2 the closet don’t get it. I always travel light. I recommend the same for you.

It’s the right size for what I wanted and expected it to be. I just needed a small gym bag big enough for my running shoes, one change of clothes, and a few toiletries and makeup.

The color is a tad darker than the screen shows but it’s totally fine. Despite the pockets issue, it does what I need and I’m satisfied with it.

I looked at a lot of different luggage sets before deciding on this one.

I was afraid that the quality might not be as good as others that cost more, but I was very well pleased with it.

Both uprights are large enough but not too large and the small shoulder bag is actually large enough to put a weekend of clothing into. The material is heavy and it rolls very well.

We’re just now finished with carseat kid travel and I figure this is as good of time as any to describe our experiences. We bought two, one in 2012 and one in 2015.

The older one received 12 flights as checked luggage and the new one just 2 (I stuffed it in the overhead a couple times when we used the seat in plane).

This bag is perfect for me. I want to specify that I got the medium size (no one ever makes that clear in their reviews so I was really nervous that the smaller of the two sizes would be too small).

This perfectly fits my ipad air 2, my small sketchbook, and a reading book, with room to spare.

In the front pockets I have a collection of Copic markers, my sketch pencils, inking pens, eraser, and a few other art supplies for drawing/coloring on the go.
