Moving To Arizona

December 8th, 2021   |   Updated on June 25th, 2022

Phoenix is Arizona’s capital and largest city, and it has seen incredible expansion in recent decades, with an annual population increase of more than 4%. Phoenix, which is located in the Salt River Valley, has a population of over 4.8 million people.

Groceries, housing, fuel, and houses for rent in Phoenix are all relatively inexpensive. Read below for advice on moving to Arizona for the first time.

Rent For A Year

Some Arizona real estate professionals advise against buying so quickly; instead, learn and get to know the town before making a long-term commitment.

It will allow you to get to know the place and discover what you like about it before committing to a permanent residence. Your movers can relocate it from storage to your permanent house once you’ve decided on a permanent location.

Get To Know The Weather

Waiting to buy will also give newcomers the opportunity to experience harsh Arizona summers. Arizona has around 30 days a year with temperatures above 110 degrees, with many more days hovering around 108-109 degrees.

Put on some sunblock! Monsoons, on the other hand, can be a thrilling experience because the wind howls nonstop. It’s not just wind and shingles; it’s dirt.

The desert conjures up images of arid, dry, dry. But, believe it or not, when all of those summer storms hit, they bring the humidity with them.

No Daylight Savings Time

No need to save any daylight in the Valley because we get plenty of it. Arizona opted out fifty years ago, and it has served well so far.

Everyone is always aware of the time, and it is not still light outside when we retire for the night.

Cold Water Is Hard To Come By

The tap water only cools down to the temperature outdoors. The pipes aren’t buried very deep in the ground because the temperature is rarely cold enough to cause them to freeze.

Throughout the summer, you get hot water from the cold tap that is actually hotter than the hot tap. Because the inside of the house is significantly cooler than the outside, you can get cooler water by using the hot side rather than the cold side for a while.

To chill down the pool, people throw ice in it. If you want cold water, you’ll need to get it from your refrigerator.

Bugs, Bugs And More Bugs

Bugs, spiders, and snakes can be found in almost any location. Arizona pushes creepy crawlies to a whole new level of creepiness and revulsion.

There are scorpions, roaches, deadly centipedes, and rattlesnakes, to name a few, in addition to the usual nasties.

They want to live with you in your home. Particularly scorpions! To survive in this environment, a creature must have a strong constitution and be ready to devour almost anything it comes across.

Termites are an unavoidable fact of life. If you don’t already have them, you will soon! Bug treatments are unavoidable in this environment.

Snowbirds

There are several 55+ communities, the wonderful weather for the bulk of the year, low living costs, and year-round golfing options all appeal to the elderly.

Also, there appears to be a large number of doctors here. A hospital, a doctor’s office, or a speciality medical facility are all within easy reach.
