1. uBlock Origin
An efficient blocker: easy on memory and CPU footprint, and yet can load and enforce thousands more filters than other popular blockers out there.
Review: Lifewire
Ad blocking makes up a major component of the extensions marketplace. For good reason, too: most websites are littered with intrusive ads that slow page load times to a crawl.
For a while, Ad Block Plus was the king of the hill, but they started allowing “acceptable” ads through their filter, allowing uBlock Origin to emerge as the new champion. The interface is easy to use for the casual user, but power users can also dive deeper into individual scripts. No matter how you use it, uBlock Origin is the best Chrome plugin for ad blocking.
2. HTTPS Everywhere
HTTPS Everywhere is an extension created by EFF and the Tor Project which automatically switches thousands of sites from insecure “http” to secure “https”. It will protect you against many forms of surveillance and account hijacking, and some forms of censorship.
Review: PCWorld
The Web is an insecure place and getting more insecure all the time. The latest threat, the Firesheep add-in for Firefox, is particularly dangerous because it is exceedingly simple to use.
Someone with absolutely no hacking experience can grab your private login information to sites such as Facebook and Amazon, and then log in as you and do anything they want, as if they were you.
The free Firefox add-in HTTPS Everywhere helps protect against that threat and other privacy invaders by effectively encrypting information when you visit certain Web sites.

4. Privacy Badger
Privacy Badger automatically learns to block invisible trackers. Instead of keeping lists of what to block, Privacy Badger learns by watching which domains appear to be tracking you as you browse the Web.
Privacy Badger sends the Do Not Track signal with your browsing. If trackers ignore your wishes, your Badger will learn to block them. Privacy Badger starts blocking once it sees the same tracker on three different websites.
Besides automatic tracker blocking, Privacy Badger removes outgoing link click tracking on Facebook, Google and Twitter, with more privacy protections on the way.
Review: Cnet
Privacy Badger protects you from trackers as you surf the web! Privacy Badger blocks spying ads and invisible trackers. It’s there to ensure that companies can’t track your browsing without your consent. The extension is designed to automatically protect your privacy from third-party trackers that load invisibly when you browse the web.
We send the Do Not Track header with each request, and our extension evaluates the likelihood that you are still being tracked. If the algorithm deems the likelihood is too high, we automatically block your request from being sent to the domain.
Please understand that the algorithm’s determination is not conclusive that the domain is tracking you (or not tracking you!) Nothing can stop the Privacy Badger from eating cookies when it’s hungry! Privacy Badger is a project of the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

PROS
Very, very good because I am seeing the Chrome heavy as never; I just hope that we will not need an un-admissible number of ad-ons now for to move this Chrome.
CONS
A great idea that need some touches here and there and they are urgent for this to be perfect.
About this ‘touches’ it is enough to see the comments of the other people here with whom I corroborate
25. Tab Wrangler
If you’re the kind of person who ends up with dozens, or even hundreds of tabs open while you’re browsing, Tab Wrangler is well worth your attention.
Going one step further than The Great Suspender, it works by closing tabs that you haven’t used for a certain period of time.
If that sounds alarming, don’t worry – all closed tabs are saved in Tab Wrangler’s ‘corral’ (nice cowboy metaphors) so you can re-open them with a click. Any tabs you really need to keep open can be pinned so they stay in place.
Review:
Stupendous! Very well thought out! Best tab limiter/manager I’ve ever used. Closes tabs that haven’t been used for whatever time period you choose yourself, but keeps a database of what was closed that is in effect just as if the tab was never closed, that you can see simply by clicking the toolbar icon. Tab gone? Okay, reopen it from the list.

There are also themes for all the biggest video hosting sites for a more pleasant viewing experience on YouTube, Vimeo and others.
Review: User Review
People seriously need to look up and educate themselves on spyware. Yes, the extension mines data but this is common practice with any “free” service out there including Google’s services. ESPECIALLY Google’s services.
Stylus is a fantastic alternative when it works (reinstalled this cause the inline search feature stopped working briefly) but there is nothing wrong with this extension either providing you understand the anonymous collection of basic data for functional and advertising purposes.
Customize any website to your color scheme in 1 click, thousands of user styles with beautiful themes, skins & free backgrounds.
