There are many different reasons you might need to send a parcel overseas, whether as a gift for a friend, selling items online as an individual or business and many more. Depending on what you’re sending, where and when it can sometimes develop into a more complicated process than you’d intended. These five steps should make it a lot easier and ensure you don’t get held up by any problems.
1. Use a Reliable Courier
The easiest way to send parcels to other countries with no hassle is to use a reliable courier such as Parcel2Go. These will likely ship to most countries around the world and offer a range of options, so you can find the service which best suits your needs. Parcel tracking, proof of delivery and more can all be incredibly useful. Always get a quote first so that you don’t get a nasty shock, as sending large items will cost more, for example.
2. Consider Sea or Air Freight
When you’re sending a high volume of items or some exceptionally large and/or heavy ones, using sea freight services can be best. It’s normally the cheapest option but can take longer and require a freight forwarder. For quicker delivery, especially of small items, air freight might be a better choice. It’s not as cheap but if speed is of the essence then little can beat this method.
3. Pack them Well
For fragile and delicate items, the better packed they are the less likely chance of any issues occurring. Choose a suitable box or envelope for the item(s) that are being sent and fill the void with bubble wrap, packing chips or paper to reduce the impact if it gets bashed around in transit. Individually wrapping all items can help too.
4. Arrange Special Delivery
Consider paying extra for special delivery for items that need extra protection. This could be to get it to its destination faster, track it so the receiving party can see where it is or just for safety. Most couriers will offer this as an option and it shouldn’t make your shipment any more complicated.
Simply outsource all the process of sending parcels internationally to another company or person. This way you don’t have to be involved at all, freeing up time to focus on other things, though it will be a costlier option. When ease of the task is your main priority though, little can be better.
Whatever reason you need to send parcels internationally, hopefully at least one of these tips will help make it simple.
