A failed reporter is bonded to an alien entity, one of many symbiotes who have invaded Earth. But the being takes a liking to Earth and decides to protect it.
Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a famous journalist/ reporter who “follows people who don’t want to be followed” as he puts it. He comes across the Life Foundation and in an attempt to undercover allegations the foundation recieved, he loses his entire career.
Six months later he is brought back to the foundation by one of their leading scientists but in his visit, Eddie comes across an alien known as a Symbiote. Venom, the Symbiote, choses to attach and adapt to Eddie’s body however this gets Brock in trouble by Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed), the leader of the Life Foundation. Eddie/Venom must stop Drake from continuing with his plans of turning the humans into human-Symbiote.

Movie Review: GO LONDON
This origin movie, about one of Spider-Man’s on-off foes, has a moody track from Eminem.
Listen out for the line: “I’m loco/ Became a Symbiote, so/ My fangs are in your throat, ho”. “Symbiote” is surely the most cumbersome word in pop-culture history, so top marks for shoe-horning it in with gusto. Alas, the blockbuster itself has no such verve.
What even is a Symbiote? For those unfamiliar with Marvel comics, all you need to know is that Venom is a predatory, dark-hued alien life-force, able to merge gelatinously with humans in a way that either kills them or makes them stronger.

Movie Review: CHICAGO SUN TIMES
“A pile of heads and a pile of bodies!” – The alien creature Venom, trying to convince his human host they should kill a bunch of people and then bite their heads off, and then make two piles.
Tom Hardy is one of the best actors in the world, but as he flounders his way through “Venom,” we’re reminded even the finest talents can sink under the weight of a terrible movie.
And that’s what this is: a tone-deaf, uneven and maddeningly dumb clunker that never settles on an identity, all the way to the closing credits.
It is a comedy? Sure, at times. I’ll admit I laughed out loud at two or three punchlines. But I also laughed when I think we weren’t supposed to be laughing.

Movie Review: VULTURE
The only reason to see Venom — the latest excrescence from the vast Marvel universe — is Tom Hardy, whose amiable mugging makes a nice change from his recent manly, mush-mouthed stoicism. Hardy plays Eddie Brock, a TV investigative reporter who acquires an extraterrestrial parasite, albeit one who violently dislikes the word “parasite.” The parasite, Venom, has a tendency to insult Eddie, who doesn’t much care for Venom either, especially when Venom erupts from Eddie’s body as a toothy, lacquer-black, Tim Burton–esque fusion of Alien and Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors and bites off people’s heads. (Venom’s Darth Vader–like voice is Hardy, enhanced.) But the marriage has its pluses. Losers on their own planets, they find a winning rhythm à deux. And wouldn’t you know their respective nemeses — Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed), a billionaire psychopath, and Riot, a mightier and meaner extraterrestrial parasite — also end up in the same body for a rock-’em-sock-’em climax.
