COVID-19 has hit all of us hard, leading to a disruption in all regular activities. Sports activities have been either postponed or called off entirely. Thankfully as a cloud of a silver lining, we are seeing the IPL 2020 happening in the next few months.

The 13th edition of this tournament will now be organized in UAE. Despite the hurdles, all team is excited about being on the pitch once again.

They will focus on various strategies and combinations to try and win the cup this year. However, the players are also required to put up a strong show for the results are favorable. Here we till you five players who we think are going to excel this year at IPL.

1. K.L. Rahul

One of the strongest players of the Indian Cricket Team, K.L Rahul, is going to play for Kings XI Punjab. For the last two years, K.L. Rahul very consistent in his playing and a cause of rejoicing for the Punjab team.

After joining their team, Rahul has also progressed as a player. In the previous two seasons of IPL, he scored 28% of the runs his team made. Still, he was unable to take the team to Playoffs.

This time with his hard efforts, he would want to rectify his mistake. In the last 15 T20’s he accrued 550 runs, which include six half-centuries.

Being the captain, Rahul would put his best foot forward. This earnestness makes him one of the valuable players to look for.

2. Sunil Narine

KKR or Kolkata Knight Riders have always been top contenders for the cup. However, their bowling is a point of contention. Sunil Narine is West Indies senior bowler and has been a part of KKR since 2012.

His spin is enviable, and each ball of his delivers the results that are demanded of him. Whether it is related to taking the crucial wicket or stopping runs, Narine can manage everything. However, the last few sessions have been painful. His injuries and suspension have created problems for the team.

Narine would want to redeem himself. His performance in CPL has been exemplary where he won 2 out of 3 man of the match awards.

3. A.B.De Villiers

RCB is genuinely in form, but if they want to lift the cup, only Virat Kohli and A.B.De Villiers can do so. Also known as Mr 360, AB has kept his fans entertained all during his stint in IPL. Every season sees him working on his skills and delivering a masterclass performance.

However, ABD is already 36 years, and he does not have much time on his hand. If he wants to lift the IPL cup, it has to happen as soon as he can.

His form is top class, and in 2019-20, he gathered over 300 runs at a strike rate of 152 runs in 9 matches. In case he picks up in the coming up, his MVP trophy is waiting for him.

4. David Warner

The captain of Sunrisers’ Hyderabad is another player to look forward too. His captaincy has made the team strong, and they would like to repeat their 2016 victory. In IPL, Warner is no less than a superstar.

As per statistics, too, David is one of the most consistent performers. In 5 consecutive seasons, he managed to gather more than 500 runs and won the orange cap thrice. After such performances, he would want to be the first overseas captain to win the Cup twice.

In the last 9 T 20’s Warner played, he accrued 400 runs at an average of 133 runs. The numbers show his calibre and there would be no stopping him in this season too.

5. Ravindra Jadeja

The tournament has yet to start, but CSK has some COVID problems to tackle. However, their team has some of the most experienced players, and one of them is Ravindra Jadeja. He is an integral player of the team and Dhoni’s trusted ally too.

The power game he plays along with left-arm spin makes the performance balanced. Jadeja has been valuable to the team’s game and would want to lift the cup this year.

In the last 12 months, Jadeja has given fabulous performances in T20 matches. In 9 games, he took eight wickets at an economy rate of 6.5. The player would want to win the Most Valuable Player trophy this year.
