WhatsApp is currently in the process of developing a new functionality that will enable users to share their WhatsApp Status updates directly to Instagram.
This mirrors the existing capability of sharing Instagram Stories on Facebook. Notably, this feature is currently in its beta phase, as observed in the beta version of the WhatsApp Android app.
While a specific release date has not been confirmed, the beta status suggests that the feature will be deployed in the near future.
This latest addition aligns with Mark Zuckerberg’s overarching vision of achieving cross-platform compatibility across all Meta applications.

Similar to the existing cross-posting settings for Facebook and WhatsApp, users will retain ultimate control over this new WhatsApp-Instagram integration.

Users will have the option to automatically post their WhatsApp Status on Instagram only if they choose to do so, requiring them to go to Settings to enable the feature.
Similar to Facebook-WhatsApp cross-posting, even with the feature enabled, users will retain control over deciding which Status updates appear on Facebook or Instagram Stories. Additionally, users can opt to turn off the setting at any time.
In parallel, WhatsApp is also actively developing another intriguing feature, allowing users to search for contacts or messages using usernames.
