Breaking Down All Surprises Of The Game Of Thrones

We are now just 13 episodes from the great Game of Thrones finale, due some time in 2018, when all shall be revealed. Will it be bogus Queen Cersei’s head on a spike above the Red Keep’s Traitor’s Walk, or will Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister find themselves at the wrong end of a pointy stick? Could a new and unexpected pretender to the Iron Throne yet be primed to emerge? In the absence of Maggy the Frog to deliver credible predictions, we’ll have to make do with a stirring new trailer for the show’s penultimate season.

Summer is here and so is the ‘winter’! A new trailer for the HBO’s hit-TV series Game of Thrones has been released by the makers and it is surely going to make fans go wild.

The trailer opens with Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) walking away from a weirwood tree in the snow as Petyr ‘Littlefinger’ Baeliesh can be heard in the background saying: “Don’t fight in the north, or in the south. Fight every battle everywhere, always, in your mind.” Then we see glimpses of all the main players of the show like Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Danaerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and Jaimie Lannister (Nikolaj Colster Waldau).

The last time we saw the Hound, he had done his penance and linked up with the Brotherhood Without Banners. The Brotherhood was heading north to fight the army of the dead, and the trailer makes it seem as if they get there. Remember, the Brotherhood is not only a band of merry warriors who fight feudalism in middle Westeros and seize the means of production for the trampled smallfolk, they worship at the altar of the Lord Of Light, and the battle between the ice zombies and the living, breathing citizens of Westeros has always been cast in extremely Manichean terms.

Later, Jon Snow can be heard off screen proposing an alliance to Danaerys Targaryen. “For centuries our families fought together against their common enemy, despite their differences, together,” says Snow.

Bran is then seen in a newly-built wheelchair as he faces the weirwood.

Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) can be seen on the cliffs of Dragonstone, watching as Daenerys’ three dragons — Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion — soar towards the island.

As the footage moves forward, we hear Snow getting ready for war and declaring that “our enemy is real, it has always been real”.

The trailer ends with Sansa saying, “When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies… but the pack survives,” as Jon Snow fights in the snow.
