The trailer of Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s much talked-about film, ‘Thackeray’, is out, which shows glimpses of gripping and interesting life story of late Shiv Sena supreme Balasaheb Thackeray.

This-three-minute trailer is a powerful portrayal of Bal Thackeray’s rise to power from an illustrator to one of the most influential political leaders of Maharashtra. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who plays the Shiv Sena patriarch, summed up the film’s essence in his tweet as he shared the trailer

The almost-three-minute trailer is a powerful portrayal of Bal Thackeray’s rise to power from an illustrator to one of the most influential political leaders of Maharashtra. The trailer begins with what appears to be the nineties’ communal riots in Mumbai (then Bombay) when the narrator says,
Iss waqt Bombay ko ek hi aadmi shaant kar sakta hai.
With his strong resemblance and a similar body language as Bal Thackarey, Nawaz surely holds promise for thrill and and entertainment in the trailer. The trailer also features Amrita Rao, who plays Bal Thackeray’s wife Meena Tai Thackeray.

Produced by Viacom Motion Pictures and Carnival Motion Pictures, ‘Thackarey’ has been directed by Abhijit Panse and written by Shiv Sena’s Rajya Sabha lawmaker Sanjay Raut .
Thackeray is all set to hit screens on January 25. The film will release in Hindi and Marathi.
